A fairly intriguing clash between rivals will take place in the next round of the Premier League. Both clubs sit in modest positions on the table, but in recent months they have shown themselves in a very interesting light. Leeds United are competing in the current edition of England's top division as a rookie. Last season the team finished top of the Championship. Despite a confident triumph in the second-tier league, the Whites have stumbled at the start of the Premier League again. Only since the beginning of December have Daniel Farke's charges become more competitive, posting results that keep them safely clear of relegation trouble. Fulham over the past few years have established themselves as a stable mid-table side in the Premier League. The credit for this goes to Marco Silva, who has led the side from the outskirts of London since 2021. Ahead of the next round, Fulham have also found excellent form, as evidenced by a long unbeaten run. Bookmakers have made the hosts the favorites for the upcoming match, offering odds of 2.26 on their victory. The Leeds United transformation occurred around November and December last year. First, the Whites almost took points from Manchester City at Anfield, after which they beat Chelsea at home by a convincing 3-1 scoreline. After this triumph Leeds went six matches in a row without defeat, including drawing with Liverpool twice, as well as Crystal Palace, Sunderland and Manchester United. The only defeat in the last six weeks or so came at Newcastle. Even in the 90th minute of that game, Leeds were ahead of Newcastle 3-2, but they managed in stoppage time not only to level but also to go ahead. Fulham, at the turn of 2025 and 2026, have become so hot that they not only went on an unbeaten run but also beat Nottingham Forest and Chelsea. In their last official match the Cottagers comfortably progressed to the FA Cup Round of 16, overcoming Middlesbrough. Now Silva's team sits ninth in the league, just two points off a European qualification place. The visitors are certainly not worse than their upcoming opponents.
