Holstein Kiel will start in the Second Bundesliga for the seventh consecutive year. During this period, the team, which has won the German championship in its history, has gone through different times. Twice the club has been on the verge of reaching the elite German division, but twice failed in the playoffs. The last time this happened was in the 2020/2021 season. Last season the club from Kiel spent in the status of a mid-table side and finished it on the eighth line of the standings. The high efficiency of duels with Holstein last season - 3.5 per game on average - was noteworthy. In the off-season, the team made some pretty significant roster changes, either by renting or fully signing some pretty quality players. Last Saturday, Holstein Kiel managed to beat Union Berlin in a friendly match, remaining the only representative of the German capital in the Bundesliga.
