Napoli will be one step closer to the title after beating Roma

Napoli have had a rather mixed start to the year. The team lost minimally to Inter, scored two victories (one of them being a 5-1 defeat of Juventus) and dropped out of the Italian Cup. They lost to one of the weakest teams in Serie A, Cremonese. Last weekend, Luciano Spalletti's charges were up against Salernitana. "The Partenopei were very convincing: a final success of 0-2 is unquestionable. Another goal from Victor Osimhen is also worth mentioning. For the Nigerian it was his 11th goal in the last ten league games, while for the team it was their eighth win since the start of the season. The Neapolitans are currently sitting at the top of the table, 12 points behind their nearest pursuer. Only themselves can stop the Partenopei from taking the Scudetto. It would be even better for Spalletti to increase their lead before the European competition. Obviously, the next four games should go without a loss of points. The great news for the team fans will be the return to action of Khvicha Kvaratskhelia. The Georgian international, although not fit to start the season, is still a big player in Spalletti's squad. Roma have picked up their third win in a row, and the team have only lost once since the start of the year (a draw against Milan). But that same points division with the Rossoneri showed many of the Giallorossi's weaknesses. The Romans' last two victories (over Fiorentina and La Spezia) were confident, but a number of factors contributed to them. Thus, with the Fiorentinians, the team played almost a half on the powerplay, and with the Eagles on the back of their fatigue after the cup encounter with Atalanta. Prior to that, the Wolves had been inert, dejected and in Jose Mourinho's favourite style. Nicolo Zagnolo, who is out of the squad for the second successive match, also looks set to leave the club. Roma have an Italian Cup tie three days from today's fixture. Perhaps they should not be wasting energy at the moment? A defeat in this meeting would not be fatal for the Wolves.
