Neither team will open up and emphasise attack

Perhaps the least popular among neutral fans and betting enthusiasts in the Nations League is the showdown between the teams in League D. While the penultimate game day in the second group of the weakest division has already decided the winner of the tournament (Estonia), the first group will determine the future League C participant at the end of the final round. There are two contenders: Latvia and Moldova. These teams will compete for first place, but they are not on equal terms. The Latvians have a two-point advantage over their runners-up and can secure victory in their group with a draw in Andorra. The Moldovans only need a win against a weak Liechtenstein and an Andorran win against their rival. In the Andorran encounter, bookmakers have identified the visitors as the favourites, offering equal odds on their victory and at least one point for the home side. The home side have not yet been eliminated from the D-League in the entire existence of the Nations League, so they are looking for motivation to achieve a result in every single encounter, rather than to fulfil a tournament objective. Andorra have looked decent in the current edition of the tournament. The team has lost two away matches, but they beat Liechtenstein twice (2-0 and 2-1) and took points from Moldova (0-0) at home. In the coming match, the Andorran players will pay special attention to defence, considering the higher status of the opponent and three conceded away goals. The Latvians lost at home to Moldova 1-2 last round, which was not only the first defeat for the Baltic national team in the tournament, but also their first loss of points. Prior to that, the visitors to the upcoming game had beaten their group rivals four times and also secured a two-goal away win against Moldova in their head-to-head encounter. In the upcoming game, Latvia have no reason to be active in attack and bare their backs, as they will be satisfied with a draw. The opponents are already in their third UEFA Nations League tie in a row in the same group, so they have plenty of experience of head-to-head encounters. The last two encounters between the teams ended in resounding 5-0 and 3-0 victories for Latvia. Meanwhile, from September 2018 to September 2020, the teams played three consecutive 0-0 games. A third successive match with three or more goals is unlikely.
