Real Betis – Nottingham Forest

The Spanish club will be closer to victory over the guests from England at their arena.

Betis spent their last UEFA season in the Conference League. The Sevilla players approached the matches of this third-tier continental tournament quite seriously from the playoff stage, which allowed them to reach the final. There, Betis lost to Chelsea, but the team’s European experience didn’t fade away after a few months. Nottingham Forest has a very glorious history. The 'Forest' won the European Cup twice in the last century, which was the equivalent of today's Champions League. However, a lot of time has passed since then, and the last time Nottingham achieved any serious success was thirty years ago. The architect of the team's current rise was Nuno Santo, who was sacked a few weeks ago due to a fallout with the club president. On 9th September 2025, Postecoglou was appointed as the 'Forest' manager, having been recently dismissed from Tottenham. So far, the managerial changes have negatively impacted Nottingham Forest's results. It is fairly difficult to assess the team's readiness for their first European matches in thirty years. The bookmakers have identified the home side as the favourites for the upcoming match, offering odds of 2.20 for their victory. Betis has started another season in La Liga at their level. So far, the Sevilla side has not faced the leaders of Spanish football. The team has accumulated points from five out of six league matches, having only lost to Athletic Bilbao. Last Friday, Betis hosted Real Sociedad at home, whom they confidently defeated 3-1. In turn, Nottingham Forest does not give the impression of the previous season, when the 'Forest' were fighting for a Champions League place. The dismissal of Nuno Santo did not lead to an improvement in the club's results. In three matches under Postecoglou's leadership, Nottingham Forest lost to Arsenal and Swansea, and last weekend they drew with Burnley. Betis is better prepared for the start of the Europa League.
