A week ago, the standoff began in the Hungarian-Swedish pair of rivals. For clubs from both countries, continental competitions are always important, and over AIK looms the example of their fierce enemies from Djurgården, who reached the semi-finals of the Conference League last season and had the opportunity to compete against Chelsea. The victory for the Stockholm club with a score of 2-1 gave them an advantage before the return match, but also left a bitter taste for their fans due to the missed difference and the fairly good performance from the opponent. Bookmakers did not determine a favourite for the upcoming meeting, offering roughly equal odds on both opponents. The situation of losing the first match is already familiar for Diósgyőr in the current qualification of the Conference League. In the last round, the Hungarians started with a loss in Armenia, where Pyunik defeated them by the same score of 2-1. However, in the return match, Diósgyőr confidently beat the Armenian team 3-1, having possession of the ball twice as much and taking shots twice as often both on goal and directly on target. Here, an unpleasant analogy for AIK can be noted. It is also important that Diósgyőr is maximally focused on the Conference League. The team finished all three rounds of the national championship with draws. AIK only had the opportunity to focus on the return match of the Conference League qualification on Monday. On Sunday, the team played a crucial match in the Swedish championship against Djurgården. The rivalry between the two capital teams is called the "Twin Derby". The rivals finished the match with a score of 0-0, which allowed AIK to remain in fourth place in Allsvenskan, twelve points behind the leader. In Hungary, visiting players will find it extremely difficult to achieve even a draw.
