Wolfsburg have been playing in the Bundesliga, the top division of Germany, for 29 consecutive seasons. During this period it has won the national championship once and has repeatedly represented the Bundesliga in European competitions. The current season is turning out worse for the Wolves than many previous ones; at the winter break the team stood four points away from the relegation zone. A few weeks ago, Daniel Bauer was appointed Wolfsburg’s coach. This specialist has been with the club's system since July 2017 and has finally risen to coach the first team. Under Bauer, Wolfsburg ended a long run of bad results in December with two consecutive victories. But can this squad prove itself on the field as a dominant force in German football? The bookmakers have made the hosts obvious favorites for the upcoming match, offering odds of 1.11 on their victory. Bayern in the first part of the season played 25 official matches, of which 22 they won. The team's scoring rate averages between three and four goals per game depending on the competition, and it looks impressive everywhere. It’s hard to say how much longer Munich can keep up this tempo, but its status as the favorite in Sunday's clash is undeniable. Wolfsburg's main problem before heading to Munich is their defense. In the last eight official matches since the end of October last year, the team has consistently conceded at least one goal. Moreover, Wolfsburg has lost six of their last eight meetings with Bayern, three of which were at their stadium. However, the hosts may lack freshness after the winter break to unleash a demolition of their opponent. And Wolfsburg is unlikely to open up defensively much, even if they are behind.
