Jagiellonia – Novi Pazar

The third team of Poland will defeat the guests from Serbia.

In Poland, the teams from different weight categories will hold their return match. The Serbian football championship closely resembles what has developed over many decades in the top league of Scotland. Similar to Celtic and Rangers, Red Star and Partizan dominate there, while the third team in the league table usually has a huge gap from them in terms of gameplay and class. Novi Pazar secured the third position in the last edition of the Serbian championship, trailing the victorious Red Star by 46 points! Moreover, the third team in the championship finished the season with a negative goal difference, barely ahead of three competitors: OFK Belgrade, Radnicki 1923, and Vojvodina by just one point. The guests of the upcoming match have never participated in continental competitions before... Jagiellonia became the champion of Poland two seasons ago, and last season finished in third place, nine points behind the champion. Jagiellonia can only pride itself on last year's European campaign. As the national champion, the club reached the quarter-finals of the Europa Conference League, where they were eliminated by the future finalist of the tournament - Betis. Bookmakers have made the home team clear favourites for the upcoming match, offering odds of 1.29 for their victory. The first match between the opponents in the second qualifying round took place in Serbia a week ago. Until the middle of the first half, Jagiellonia and Novi Pazar exchanged goals, but the quality of the Polish team was evident even in the away match. In the 88th minute, Novi Pazar was reduced to ten men, and in the 90+5 minute, Pululu scored the winning goal for Jagiellonia - 2:1. The Polish team has started the season on the national stage, winning once and losing once. Novi Pazar has an estimated total squad value of 7.4 million euros. The opponent's squad is worth about four times as much. It should also be noted that the return match will take place in Bialystok, where Jagiellonia feels significantly more comfortable in confrontations with opponents of any level. Last season, another Serbian club, Backa Topola, visited them and was defeated 3:1. Jagiellonia will confidently overcome Novi Pazar.
