Sporting started the current season as Portuguese champions, which was won in dominant style. He replaced Ruben Amorim, who went on to conquer the football horizons in Manchester United. The former Portugal defender has been on Sporting's coaching staff since 2021, most recently as Amorim's assistant. This indicates that no upheaval in the national champion's camp should follow the change of coach. In the current season Sporting played nineteen official matches, of which they won seventeen. The Champions League meeting against PSV and the Supercup game against Porto ended in a draw for the Lions, but in the latter case they lost in extra time. By the way, it has been almost four winless months for Sporting since the date of that meeting against Porto. Arsenal went through a pretty decent crisis before the upcoming meeting in Portugal. Whether he finally survived - it is the result of the match with Sporting that will answer. The North London derby with Tottenham and the Champions League meeting against PSG were the only meetings of the Canaries since the start of the football year, in which they managed to defeat strong opponents. With Atalanta, Liverpool, Brighton, Manchester City and Chelsea, Arteta's wards have drawn the "world", and lost to Inter, Newcastle and Bournemouth. Sporting are unlikely to lose at home, but out of respect for Arteta's team we will bet on goals from both teams.
