Kaiserslautern were German champions in the late 90s, after which the team was thrown hard by fate. In the Second Bundesliga, the Red Devils appeared not having been relegated from the country's main league, but having risen from the third division in terms of status. So far, Kaiserslautern do not give the impression of a contender for serious achievements. Bookmakers have identified the home team as the favourites for the upcoming game, offering odds of 1.72 on their victory. Fortuna Düsseldorf left the tournament in the first round of the German Cup, focusing on the task of getting a direct entry to the Bundesliga. In August and September, the team scored seventeen points from seven rounds, only in two meetings with their opponents in peace. Fortuna suffered their first defeat in early October, when Hamburg came to Düsseldorf. It cannot be said that the "dinosaurs" were looking for a 3-0 win, but the league leader added to their own problems by being left in the penalty shootout in the 81st minute - before Hamburg's second and third goals. Fortuna fully rehabilitated themselves a few days ago in a 3-0 away win at Regensburg. Kaiserslautern have been mediocre in the past two seasons of the Second Bundesliga and are far from promotion contenders in the current league season. The Red Devils took seven points from a possible nine in the opening three rounds, giving their fans hope for a bright future. However, since the last meeting in August it turned out to be not the development of success, but total loss of points. Kaiserslautern managed to break their five-match winless streak only last Saturday, when they defeated Paderborn 3-0 at home. At the same time, we can't talk about systemic changes in the guests' game. Let's bet on a win for Fortuna.
