The hosts won’t let the third team in the Bundesliga beat them

Augsburg started to show themselves in the Bundesliga quite boldly and noticeably. For fourteen seasons in the elite of German football this team has only twice finished above eleventh place, more often saving from relegation than claiming European Cup positions. Since the beginning of February, Augsburg began to show very decent results, which allowed the club to get to the tenth place and the thirtieth round to meet in three points from the European Cup zone. After a draw in London, the Frankfurt team had every chance to take care of Tottenham at home, but failed to play first and conceded the only goal of the match from a ridiculously taken penalty. A big problem for Eintracht may be the injury of Mario Goetze, because of which the leader of the team was forced to be replaced in the 17th minute. Bookmakers have not identified a clear favourite for the upcoming meeting, offering a slightly lower odds for the home team's victory. Augsburg returned from the winter break a completely different club. Having lost the first January game to Stuttgart, neither the players nor the fans even thought that the Swabians and Bayern Munich would become the full list of clubs to which Augsburg would lose from the beginning of 2025, at least until mid-April. Eight of the next thirteen rounds Torup's wards finished without conceding a goal, losing only to the championship leader. Last round Augsburg showed character in Bochum, where he scored the winning goal in the 90th minute, playing in the numerical minority. Eintracht, contrary to the third position in the Bundesliga, since about December last year is very unstable. A month and a half ago, the Frankfurt club was defeated by Bayern and Bayer with a total score of 1:8 in just one week. In addition, the hosts regularly lose to the most unexpected opponents, such as Werder or Union Berlin. Götze has always been considered the engine of progress in the centre of the pitch. How much Eintracht will lose class without the world champion is a rhetorical question. The Frankfurt club rarely win away, and if we take into account the playing form of Augsburg, there is little chance of three points for the visitors.
