Zverev to defeat Khachanov
Russia's Karen Khachanov will play against Germany's Alexander Zverev in the fourth round of the Miami Masters. The match will take place on 27 March. Zverev calmly made it through the previous two rounds, despite the fact that he has already had one difficult opponent here. In the first match, the German tennis player scored a confident victory over Felix Auger-Aliassime - 6:2, 6:4. It was probably one of his best matches of the season. Zverev lost only two points on his serve. He took 93 per cent of his draws on the first ball and 10 out of 10 on the second. Zverev then defeated American Christopher Eubanks 7:6, 6:3. In the first game, the American failed to serve for the set at 5-3. This was the key moment of the match, after which Zverev took control of the situation on court. Khachanov had a hard-fought 6-1, 5-7, 7-6 win over Francisco Cerundolo in his previous match. In the second set at 5-5, the game had to be suspended for 12 minutes because one of the fans felt ill. It so happened that immediately after the pause, the Russian gave away a game on serve, and with it the game. In the deciding set, the Argentine broke straight away, but Khachanov still managed to get back on track and force a tie-break. At one point everything was going to be enough for Karen to win two sets, but due to the situation in the stands he seemed to lose concentration for a while. Earlier this season, Khachanov won more than two matches only at the Australian Open and Doha. Zverev is the 2020 Olympic singles champion; finalist of one Grand Slam singles tournament (2020 US Open); two-time winner of the ATP Finals (2018 and 2021) in singles; winner of 23 ATP tournaments (21 of them in singles). Khachanov - silver medallist at the 2020 Olympic Games in singles; winner of seven ATP tournaments (six of them in singles); winner of the 2021 Davis Cup with the Russian national team; former world number eight in singles. Bookmakers have Zverev as the clear favourite. Will Khachanov spring a surprise? Karen will play against Sasha for the first time since 2021, when he lost to the German in the final of the Olympic tournament with a score of 3:6, 1:6. The upcoming match is unlikely to come down to a rout, but the Russian is unlikely to cope with his opponent's serve. You should bet on Zverev to win.
