The London club will beat guests from the bottom half of the standings

For the second season in a row, Tottenham spend the first half in the same scenario. Last year, the Spurs went undefeated for a long time, at a certain point remaining with zero in this column of the standings with Manchester City. Then the playing form of the London club rapidly deteriorated, and the result of the season was the club's eighth place in the division and the flight past the European tournaments. In the current championship, Tottenham was phenomenal until the beginning of November and even spent some time in the status of the leader of the Premier League, but the decline in the game form of "Spurs" and this time broke all the "gained" for three months of positions. Everton in the first half of the championship performed in the opposite scenario. First, the Toffees hinted to their own fans that the first since the 50-ies of the last century, the departure from the elite division of England is very likely these days, and then relieved their suffering with four victories in a row. Bookmakers have identified the home team as favourites for the upcoming match, offering odds of 1.80 on their victory. Tottenham after the starting ten rounds had eight wins and two draws. During this period, the team beat Liverpool, Manchester United and a number of good mid-table league sides. The evil fate befell Spurs after a 1:4 defeat to Chelsea, a match in which Tottenham were left with nine men for a long period of time. Since then, the London side have produced a stretch of five games with just one point. Spurs managed to get back on track in mid-December, when they beat Newcastle United and Nottingham Forest. Two wins in a row have not put Tottenham back on top, but definitely emphasise the end of the acute crisis in their game. Until December, the current season was quite bad for Everton - the team was in the relegation zone and reminded its fans that last year's problems are not solved. The situation categorically changed this month. In just a fortnight, the Toffees managed to win four times in a row without conceding a single goal. Among those defeated during this period were such clubs as Chelsea and Newcastle. Everton were knocked out of the English League Cup by Fulham in midweek, and an away game against a "returning" Tottenham does not bode well for them at all.
