Monaco play at home against Troyes in the fifth round of the French championship. Monaco made a memorable start to the season by drawing with PSG away (1-1). But Philippe Clement's side have had a poor start to the season as a whole. After four rounds, Monaco are only in 12th place, which points to the instability of their performance. On the one hand, their potential enables them to take on the stronger teams, but, on the other hand, they are unable to focus on their weaker opponents. In the match against Troyes, this could work because this team is one of the weakest in Ligue 1, especially in the area of defence. Troyes managed to beat Angers (3-1) last round, but not without luck and largely thanks to a sending off. Before that, Troyes had lost three games in a row and conceded a lot of goals: four from Lyon, three from Toulouse and three from Montpellier. It is scary to imagine what Monaco can do with such a defence, if they do not fool around and waste chances. And the match against PSG should have encouraged and spurred the Monegasques to climb up the standings to regain their lost ground. Monaco beat Troyes 2-1 twice last season. And have a winning streak against this foe of five consecutive matches. The Monegasque side have scored two or three goals in each.
