Can Lens extend their unbeaten streak against Monaco?

Monaco face Lens in their third round match of the French championship. Both teams were in contention for places in the European competitions last season. Lans did not manage to reach the necessary position, while Monaco missed out on second place at the last minute and ended up in the Champions League qualification, from which they dropped out. The Monegasque side, however have gained a fair amount of game momentum compared to the other teams in Ligue 1 and are serious about storming to the highest places in the championship again. In the Champions League qualifiers, Monaco lost to PSV. Both games ended in a draw, but the Monegasques lost in extra time away. That was quite a shame. In the league, Monaco started off with a 2-1 away victory over Strasbourg. This is a very decent result, because Strasbourg are very strong at home. And then, the Monegasques met with another former top-seeded rival, Rennes. And it was a 1-1 draw. At the start of the season, Monaco's calendar is uneasy, but the team are showing good football. Although the efficiency of their attacks is often leveled by not very reliable defense. In all four games this season Monaco have both conceded and scored. Lens, on the other hand, are continuing their unbeaten streak from last season. The attack-oriented side unexpectedly drew with Ajaccio in the last round. But it was in Corsica, and the home side put up a good fight to secure a nil draw. And in the opening round, Lens produced a brilliant encounter with Brest, winning 3-2. In general, Lance have retained all the features of their style from last season. And it's a very cheeky attacking team. By the way, last season it was Lance that prevented Monaco from qualifying directly to the Champions League, snatching a 2-2 draw at the end of the match. Another match in the French Cup ended in a 4-2 victory for the Monegasques. So, the rivalry between these teams is an emotional one.
