The visitors will be good against more classy opponents

In one of the opening fixtures of the third round of the Premier League, the clubs that finished in the top half of the table last season will meet. Wolverhampton, however, are not conditionally in this regard, as they finished tenth overall. "The Wolves tried to play in a strictly defensive style throughout the championship. However, they did not always succeed. Last season, Bruno Laghe's side finished the campaign with a seven-match unbeaten streak, during which they managed to get only two points. One of the draws came against a hopelessly relegated Norwich, the other against an already unmotivated Chelsea. In the off-season, Wolves strengthened their squad with the likes of Sporting Núñez, Valencia's Guedes, Burnley's Collins and Leipzig's Hwang. In total, the purchases cost Laga almost 120 million euros. The current result of the transfers: a continuation of the unbeaten streak already in the new season. First, the Wolves lost carelessly to Leeds, scoring first, and then they failed to beat the formal newcomer to the division, Fulham (0-0), at home. At the same time, the Cottagers also failed to convert a penalty in the 81st minute. In general, Wolverhampton cannot be called hopeless, but they have nothing to boast about. Tottenham could be a good motivator for the visitors' feat. In the off-season, Spurs retained the core of the team, including the leaders, Kane and Son, and they also strengthened the squad by about the same amount as the upcoming opponents. Conte has not acquired any particularly star players, but the most expensive, Bissouma and Richarlison, are already getting game time. Last season, Spurs heroically snuck into the Champions League zone and started the current league with a 4-1 rout of Southampton. Last week's derby with Chelsea in the capital provided a storm of emotions that could well have an impact on the result of the upcoming meeting. After the psychological "explosion" that Spurs suffered last Sunday, Conte will find it difficult to get his players geared up against a mediocre opponent. And it is not easy for Tottenham to take on Wolverhampton. In the last ten head-to-head encounters in ten years, Spurs have won just once by more than one goal.
